Laneway Festival Announce 2013 Venue and Dates

For the first time since launching in 2010, New Zealand's Laneway Festival will return to the same venue. Yep promoters announced today that the festival will once again be held at the Silo Park on Auckland's waterfront, with major changes promised to the layout including increased grassy areas, more shade, bigger bars and there is rumour of a possible fourth stage. The event will take place again on Auckland Anniversary Day, Monday 28th January, and the lineup will be revealed on Wednesday 26th September. The lineup rumour mill has already started of course, we posted some last week with Cat Power being the latest addition this week, Chan Marshal having announced she'll play Australia next year around the time of the festival.

ST JEROME’S LANEWAY FESTIVAL returns to Auckland, NZ in 2013! And it’s looking to be the most exciting Laneway Festival yet.

Now in its fourth year in NZ, St Jerome’s Laneway Festival is heading back to Silo Park, Wynyard Quarter, with some exciting changes.

The location site will have a slightly different set up to 2012 Laneway – the site will be bigger and run along the waterfront, with lots of shade, heaps more grass, tables, chairs and umbrellas. We have doubled the size of the bars – and will be increasing the selection of food offerings. The site location will still be the most unique music festival location in NZ, with views to the Auckland Harbour Bridge and towering silos.

The line-up is pretty bloody exciting, though we cant say anything yet. We'll be announcing the line-up in its entirety on Wednesday September, 26 September.

What we can say is that as usual, Laneway will bring the finest mix of our favourite indie and alternative acts – some will be your recent discoveries, and others soon to be your favourite. For now, mark Monday 28th January (Auckland Anniversary Day) in your diary for the NZ Laneway Festival 2013.
