Girls Pissing On Girls Pissing Anounce New Album, Tour and First Single

You don't really expect bands with names like Girls Pissing on Girls Pissing to stick around but given the band's driving force is Sharpie Crow's Casey Latimer, we are really glad they have.  Now a foursome, including Huf from Sharpie Crows and two lasses currently unknown to us, they have just announced the release of their second album Eeling in February via Muzai Records along with nationwide tour dates to celebrate. GIRLS PISSING ON GIRLS PISSING - EELING

Claustrophobic. Unnerving. Unique. These are some of the qualities Auckland band GIRLS PISSING ON GIRLS PISSING exude – demonstrated perfectly with their second work, Eeling, to be released through MUZAI Records in February.

Following in the footsteps of their previous release, Tangiwai, the album serves as a accompaniment to a book, with a limited physical run alongside a digital release in New Zealand. Eeling was recorded by Jackson Hobbs and Steven Huf, while Huf also mixed and mastered the album – his first release through a record label.

Girls Pissing on Girls Pissing weave esoteric dirges with the rusted edges of the avant garde, using rhythmic seance to voice profane prose. Creaking floor boards and the bedroom noises of strangers strained through funerary brass ensembles. The group is varied in its influences and does not conform to any genre or style or restrict itself to any approach.

Try as you might to sum up Girls Pissing on Girls Pissing accurately, the sheer range in dynamics makes the group difficult to pigeonhole; at times post-punk, at other times experimental, even moments of yolk. Eeling in every sense evokes the sentiments that this is something unique – not just in regards to its chosen physical release format.
