King Tuff To Play Auckland and Wellington In April

King Tuff, aka charasmatic Vermont native Kyle Thomas, will bring his skuzzy party rock to New Zealand for the first time in April.  Thomas released second album King Tuff last year via Sup Pop and is also known for his involvement in  projects like Witch (J Mascis' doom metal band),  folk collective Feathers and Hunx and His Punx who toured here in Jan.   Next month he is re-releasing an earlier record titled Was Dead previously only available on vinyl via Burger Records - check out a cut from that and some videos from his eponymous album below.

King Tuff is the brainchild of garage-rocker Kyle Thomas. Known chiefly as King Tuff to the rock-nerd underworld, he has moonlighted in a multitude of bands, such as psych-folk band Feathers, garage punk and Sub Pop affiliated outfit Happy Birthday as well as J Mascis’ doom band Witch.

King Tuff’s charisma is magnetic, his shows have been likened to cheap-beer-soaked tent revivals, while he combines the stadium-sized guitar licks of Erik Cartwright with the bratty whine of Eric Cartman.
