Sydney duo Jagwar Ma have announced a one off Auckland show in August. Creating an infectious blend of Manchester icons Stone Roses and Happy Mondays and contemporary electronic acts like Animal Collective, they recently released critically acclaimed debut album Howlin. Under the Radar and 95bFM Present JAGWAR MA in New Zealand

Under the Radar and 95bFM are excited to announce Australia’s JAGWAR MA for one show in Auckland, New Zealand at the Kings Arms on Wednesday 7 August this year. The Sydney duo – made up of Jono Ma and Gabriel Winterfield – released their debut album ‘Howlin’ earlier this month. Noted as one of the most exciting Australian bands of 2013, JAGWAR MA’s music is packed with catchy sunshine pop, psych synths and electronic beats.

Since the Australian duo’s “Come Save Me” appeared on YouTube in 2011, worldwide buzz has snowballed into one vibrant psych-pop party for JAGWAR MA. The single "Come Save Me" became the #1 Most Played Track on Australia's triple j Radio, with UK's BBC Radio1 adding it to the playlist and California's veritable KCRW giving it the nod. The bands seven minute ‘wonder-track’, “The Throw” was named Pitchfork’s Best New Track in January this year.

Described as the kings of summer, JAGWAR MA intelligently blur the lines of several genres, weaving melodies and beats of dance, guitar-led rock and psychedelic electronica. Their joyful variation in style – sometimes referred to as baggy Manchester – treats and surprises the listener throughout their new album. Having recently opened for The XX in Australia, JAGWAR MA have announced that they will play their first ever North American live dates in October this year. With fantastic praise early on and an ever-expanding fan base, JAGWAR MA is one band to watch for 2013.
