Pearl Jam Rumoured For Big Day Out 2014

With just over a week to go until the Big Day Out 2014 line-up is officially announced, the Internet has been running rampant with the rumour that Pearl Jam will headline the festival. Triple M Australia's music reporter, Nui Te Koha basically confirmed their participation in the Big Day Out when he stated "it’s rumoured, there’s lots of talk on the internet going around about it and I’m gonna lock it in – Pearl Jam.” We've heard similar murmurings from on the ground here in New Zealand, too. Nui Te Koha also noted Blur and The Cure as potentials. The official Big Day Out announcement is on August 1st at 6am.

Pearl Jam will release a new full length album (their eleventh), called Lightning Bolt in October, which adds further weight to the Big Day Out rumour. They've already released the first single called 'Mind Your Manners' and - sounding a lot like Vitalogy cut 'Spin the Black Circle' - you can have a listen over here.
