Listen: The Velvet Underground - I'm Not A Young Man Anymore
In what is, now, quite melancholic news, Universal are releasing a box set of The Velvet Underground's White Light/White Heat 45th Anniversary Super Deluxe Edition this December 10th. The release will include original mixes of the album, previously unreleased outtakes and, most notably, a recording of the band's entire show at The Gymnasium in New York, in 1967. "I'm Not A Young Man Anymore" was played during this performance and has never been officially released but, according to Thurston Moore who mentioned it when he wrote a tribute to Lou Reed for Rolling Stone, has appeared on live bootleg albums. Considering the strength of the thing, it's a shame it was never officially recorded, but you can have the pleasure of listening to it with fresh ears, below.
