RIP Devo's Bob Casale

RIP Devo's Bob Casale

Wednesday 19th February, 2014 8:19AM

Devo's Bob Casale has passed away suddenly from heart failure aged 61. A founding member of the legendary band alongside brother Gerald Casale, they were just down our way in 2012 for an unforgettable Auckland show.  This appearance gave us the opportunity to speak with Casale, resulting in a lively and entertaining discussion on that state of popular music today along with the origins of the band and their creative ambitions. One of our best interviews, definitely give it a read over here and below is statement from brother Gerald Casale from Devo's site.

"As an original member of Devo, Bob Casale was there in the trenches with me from the beginning. He was my level-headed brother, a solid performer and talented audio engineer, always giving more than he got. He was excited about the possibility of Mark Mothersbaugh allowing Devo to play shows again. His sudden death from conditions that lead to heart failure came as a total shock to us all. "
