Video: The Afghan Whigs - Algiers

Wednesday 19th February, 2014 11:20AM

Renowned grunge veterans The Afghan Whigs have released the first single/video from new album Do To The Beast due out in April. Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio the group rose through the late 1980s grunge movement, yet stood out from contemporaries Dinosaur Jr. and Mudhoney with their own soul influenced sound. After releasing their debut independently, the group signed to the now legendary label Sub Pop, who are releasing the new record - the band's first in over sixteen years.

The new video for track 'Algiers',  an intense introspective song, is themed on a violent Western movie clip shot by Phil Harder, who directed several of the group's videos throughout their career. Check it out...
