Neil Young Poised To Launch PonoPlayer

Monday 10th March, 2014 11:57AM

The Godfather of Grunge is aiming to add goosebumps back in to the modern day listening experience with the release of his high-fidelity digital player, dubbed the PonoPlayer. The device will be released at the South by Southwest festival in Texas this week by Neil Young himself, who is the founder and chairman of PonoMusic.

The PonoPlayer will be available through PonoMusic.com at the cost of US$399 (NZD$470) and comes with 128GB of memory. It will work in collaboration with a desktop-based media management system, allowing listeners to download and sync music to the device. PonoMusic say they will offer the highest-resolution digital music from both major and prominent independent labels. "It's about the music, real music. We want to move digital music into the 21st century and PonoMusic does that," Neil says.
