PRESS RELEASE:

Secret Sounds Presents
BEN HOWARD
First New Zealand Headline Show

AUCKLAND
Saturday 2nd August
The Studio

Tickets on sale 10am Thursday May 1 from www.ticketek.co.nz

Young eclectic troubadour Ben Howard will play for New Zealand audiences for the first time with a headlining show on Saturday, August 2 at The Studio.

The Devonshire musician, a ‘singer-songwriter’ for want of a better phrase, amassed a secret society of fans via the world’s fiercely loyal surfing community and exceeded all of his expectations within a whirlwind two and a bit years.

In 2011 Ben inked his record deal, self-recorded and released his beautiful platinum-selling debut album, Every Kingdom. The year was then mapped out on the motorways and back-roads of the UK, Europe and rest of the world, where Ben toured relentlessly selling out every single show.

Two Brit Awards (Best Breakthrough Act and Best Male Artist in 2013) and a nomination for a prestigious Ivor Novello Award, Ben has mesmerized people at festivals like Glastonbury and Bonaroo, and will arrive in Auckland fresh from the stage of Splendour In The Grass.

Ben’s eagerly anticipated second record has been confirmed for later this year with a new single on the horizon.

is there a chance that he'll open the show up for people not 18+, like imagine dragons did?

I couldn't find tickets on sale at all yesterday and now message on Ticketek is saying Allocation Exhausted. This is very poor communication and very disappointing.

Seriously, under the radar did you really screw up the ticket sale times!! That is very, very guttering to us Ben Howard fans. We were really looking forward to making the trip up, its not okay to publish false information that confuses the public. Especially if your site is supposed to be the go to place for event information like this. Not impressed at all.

Its not UTR, earlier this morning it said "Presale Allocation Exhausted". Ticketek have massive servers, I’d say a thousand tickets would have sold out in seconds.. Radiohead sold out the whole Vector in about a minute. bummed

Hi, sorry I take back what i said, it's not under the radar's fault. The show sold out in the pre-sale, which was confirmed by ticketek on their Facebook page. Clearly need a bigger venue, there are a lot more fans than they have estimated.

Hi all - the ticketing information included in this news post was provided by the event organiser/publicist via a press release as noted. We did not alter the information and were not provided any alternative ticketing information, such as an early presale option. A second show has been announced though and tickets are available now via Ticketek.
