Janelle Monae and Kimbra Cancel New Zealand Concert

Wednesday 21st May, 2014 12:46PM

Janelle Monáe and Kimbra have been forced to cancel their Auckland show this Saturday due to sudden illness. At the eleventh hour, Monáe was unable to open The Golden Electric Tour on the weekend in Melbourne, due to falling sick shortly after arriving in Australia. The following show at the Sydney Opera House was also cancelled. Now adhering to doctors orders, the pair have been left no choice but to cancel the remainder of the tour, including the show on 24th May at Auckland's Vector Arena.

According to show promoter Live Nation, the soul singer is "devastated at not being able to perform for her fans and has vowed to return to our shores in the not-too-distant future". They say ticket holders will be contacted to advise of the process for obtaining a refund.
