
Listen: Hallelujah Picassos - Hang All Bankers
Following a long hiatus, genre-defying group Hallelujah Picassos have been busy over the past year playing a bunch of shows around Auckland with the original line up of Roland Rorschach, Peter McLennan, Bobbylon and new addition Darryn Harkness joining on bass. The recent re-banding has inspired the P-Core to start brewing up some fantastic new songs which encompass the mix of punk, reggae, ska and thrash that saw the group shoot to cult status back in the nineties. On the weekend UTR was lucky enough to run into vocalist Roland, who had handed us a brown paper bag with a CD of early mixes of their new tracks that were put to tape in their rehearsal space at Town Hall. The Picassos' last release of fresh material was an EP called The Gospel of the DNA Demon, which came out in 1995. Check out the first track from the new (and as yet unnamed EP) below...
