Chali 2na Returning To New Zealand in September
The unmistakable Chali 2na is heading back to New Zealand next month for four shows across the country with his band House Of Vibe. The baritone rapper was in the country for a reunion tour with Jurassic 5 earlier in the year, but this time he will be coming with tunes from his recently dropped Manphibian Music EP as well as a wealth of material from his back catalogue. Off the back of a sold out reunion tour with Jurassic 5 this year, Rhythm Group Entertainment are excited to be bringing back founding member CHALI 2NA and his all star band the HOUSE OF VIBE ALL STARS for four shows nationwide.
From his days growing up on the hard streets of Chicago’s south side; to his subsequent explosion onto Los Angeles’ burgeoning hip-hop scene; to his tenure as MC for seminal hip-hop group Jurassic 5, and his front-man duties for Grammy-Award winners, Ozomatli, CHALI 2NA epitomizes the portrait of the multi talented 21st century artist.
2014 has been a busy year for CHALI 2NA. His solo performances support a string of EPs. Released in December last year, his EP ‘Against The Current’ was the first in a series of five, followed by ‘Manphibian Music’ released this year. Breathing new life into his musical past, the projects sound is heavily influenced buy his history, including the music he grew up on and the hip hop he’s produced combined with his love for performing live.
With his distinctive and legendary baritone voice CHALI 2NA has harvested praise as a charismatic personality of hip-hop and a highly respected artist.
