PRESS RELEASE:

JIMMY EAT WORLD

RETURNING TO NZ TO CELEBRATE 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF ‘FUTURES’

Frontier Touring are proud to be bringing Jimmy Eat World back to Australia this November. The band will once again be Down Under in celebration of the 10th year anniversary of the release of album Futures.

Jim Adkins, Rick Burch, Tom Linto and Zach Lind from Mesa, Arizona formed Jimmy Eat World in 1994 and quickly cemented their position as alternative rock leaders of their generation. Initial albums, Clarity and Bleed American kicked things off for the band’s bright future, including the anthemic, infectious tune ‘The Middle’, which landed at the top of the Billboard Modern Rock Track Charts and peaked at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Futures, the band’s fifth studio album was released on 19 October in 2004 and featured some of the band’s most iconic tracks including: ‘Pain’, which has achieved Gold status by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and became their second song to land the #1 spot on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks Chart.

The album peaked at #6 on the Billboard 200, proving the band were still delivering the goods in album number five. It has been widely agreed that it is Jimmy Eat World’s deepest and more emotive albums, demonstrating the band’s growth and maturity and their crafted abilities in invoking heavy themes in even the catchiest of tunes such as ‘Work’. We then have tracks like ‘23’, a perfectly building track, with seamless production, that still highlights the raw and echoing lyrics by Adkins, making it a perfect closing track to Futures.

New Zealand fans are in for a treat as Jimmy Eat World bring their Futures 10 Year Anniversary Tour in November to all Australian capital cities and Auckland. They’ll be hitting our shores right after a massive run of US dates in commemoration of the pivotal album, where they will be performing the album from front to back. After the band’s appearance Down Under earlier this year for a run of very successful festival sets, fans have been hanging for more. If the response from their last headline tour in 2011 and reaction from fans who were lucky enough to catch them earlier this year is anything to go by, the demand for these shows are going to be through the roof!
