Listen: Grouper - Call Across Rooms

American ambient artist Grouper, aka Liz Harris, has unveiled beautifully aching new single 'Call Across Rooms'. The sorrowful track, which built around a lone piano topped with layers upon layers of wispy vocals, is from the musician's forthcoming 10th studio album Ruins. Harris says the song "is on one level very plain and literal, about a letter I wrote for someone I loved and could not get along with,” but adds, "on a more subconscious, poetic level, it is a letter to myself, as aspiration to love better". Ruins was largely recorded on a stand-up piano in Portugal during 2011 and is due for release in October via Kranky. Listen to 'Call Across Rooms' below...
