Listen: Markdown - Clocked Out
Auckland act Markdown have cornered the retail-core genre with their new self-titled release. The band, which apparently is made up of workers from the iconic Real Groovy record store, turned out thirteen breakneck punk tunes that address the hum-drum of customer service across Markdown's 12 frantic minutes. Topics for the tracks (that max out at 1:12 minutes length) run the gamut of coffee addiction, plastic bags, and irksome customers who swap price stickers. Here's 'Clocked Out', which is instantly relatable to anyone who has worked in a CD shack or DVD shop. You can buy the whole slice of brilliance digitally or hook it up on cassette via Bandcamp...
Markdown are holding their cassette release show this Saturday at Real Groovy. Head over here for details.
