PRESS RELEASE:

BILLY IDOL ANNOUNCES 2015
AUSTRALIAN & NEW ZEALAND TOUR -
a day on the green wineries & indoor shows
with special guest CHEAP TRICK

Rock icon BILLY IDOL is returning to Australia and New Zealand for his first concert tour of Australia since 2002 and his first of New Zealand since 1987.

The original punk turned global superstar will perform indoor shows and a day on the green winery events in March and April 2015. Idolís band includes long-time collaborator and lead-guitarist Steve Stevens.

Billy Idolís tour announcement coincides with a flurry of new Idol projects that have fans around the globe in a heightened state of excitement!

Idolís long-awaited and riveting self-written autobiography Dancing With Myself was released worldwide on October 7 via Touchstone/Simon and Schuster and his first album of new material since 2005, Kings & Queens of the Underground, is out on October 17 on BFI Records/Kobalt Label Services.

Written by Idol himself, in his inimitable, searingly honest voice, Dancing With Myself offers an all-access pass to Billy Idolís journey to fame. His tale is an extraordinary one, from a transient childhood divided between the United States and England, to Idolís time as a seminal member of the 1970s London punk scene fronting the band Generation X, to his meteoric rise to stardom, propelled by a distinctive sound combining punkís energy and ethos with a danceable, driving beat.

Beyond adding his uniquely qualified perspective to the story of the evolution of rock, Idol is a brash, lively chronicler of his own career. Delivered with the same in-your-face attitude and fire his fans have embraced for decades, Dancing With Myself offers eye-opening anecdotes full of drugs, sex, and rock Ďní roll that only Billy Idol can tell.

Idolís new album Kings & Queens Of The Underground was primarily produced by Trevor Horn, with Greg Kurstin also contributing as producer to two songs, including the anthemic lead single, ĎCanít Break Me Downí.

Idol and his band will launch a European tour in November and a North American tour in January that will continue to Australia and New Zealand in March 2015. The full list of tour dates and on sale times is below.

To celebrate having Idol finally back in Australia, promoters Frontier Touring and Roundhouse Entertainment have put together a cracking tour line-up featuring special guests Cheap Trick and in some cities, The Angels and Choirboys.

i remember a rough tough billy idol came to a night club i was at when i was only 18 and i thought he was the best looking guy id ever seen, however he was at that time punching on with a bouncer and he turned and said 'do you know who i am' and i poped up and said i do it was the shyish quietest voice in the whole place but i was the only one to speak up, and he turned and invited me and my girl friend back to his hotel unit for a party, that was the first time i had LSD needless to say after he left i had some more and more and well the university ended and we couldn't make it anymore so the party was over, then i came to Australia, and to this day i still see that amazing handsome hunk of a man every time i see him even when he got old. sweet sweet memory's.
