Traps Ps Announce New Zealand Tour

Traps Ps Announce New Zealand Tour

Monday 10th November, 2014 12:57PM

Los Angeles act Traps Ps (simply pronounced Traps) are taking the long flight to New Zealand for an extensive tour of the country over the new year. The 13-date tour will see the three-piece, who are affiliated with legendary DIY venue The Smell, tackling a vast variety of locations including A Low Hum House, Chronophonium, an array of galleries and even a tunnel in Tauranga, alongside some more traditional musical venues. As the promotor puts it, go see them if you like "anxious surf sounds (it’s summer; you should), metropolitan arhythms, a band called the Suburban Lawns, and/or punk bands with three members". Here's the details...

TRAPSPS (US) New Year NZ Tour

Trapsps, Traps PS, Traps Ps, Traps, PS, TraPs, TraPsPs, etc.

There is in Downtown Los Angeles an All Ages venue called The Smell. Mika Miko, No Age and Abe Vigoda come from this place. It nears Skid Row, and a homeless man called Danny acts as de facto security guard. Since 1999, an ever-rotating crew of youngsters have taken it upon themselves to ensure its longevity, and that of bands like Trapsps. It’s where Aucklanders Civil Union first smelt this band onstage earlier this year.

Trapsps will be in NZ this new year. Like ‘em if you like: anxious surf sounds (it’s summer; you should), metropolitan arhythms, a band called the Suburban Lawns, and/or punk bands with three members. Their music can be heard via their label Papermade, or on Bandcamp.

Special shows are in the works: A beach house will host Trapsps. A cafe will be played at. An Auckland sports bar also. Even a tunnel in fucking Tauranga has been planned. If not these, witness ‘em at Chronophonium Festival or A Low Hum House, or somewhere.

Their name is said like “TRAPS”.
