PRESS RELEASE:

RHYTHM AND VINES 2014 FINAL LINE UP RELEASED!

Rhythm and Vines is excited to add an outstanding selection of new artists to the final 2014 festival line up joining international artists such as Bastille, Netsky, Danny Brown, Just Blaze, Chet Faker, MØ and more.

The final line up includes over 30 additional acts, bringing the total number of acts for the 3 day festival to over 75.

Included in the new line up is Chase and Status aka Saul Milton and Will Kennard. The London drum & bass duo have recently laid down the tracks that would make up their third studio album - Brand New Machine. The album that brims with surging, dancefloor anthems, dusty trip hop grooves, is an instantly memorable collection of swaggering cuts tuned to a club setting. Their platinum selling album stormed the UK charts to #2. For the best part of 10 years, Milton and Kennard have continually pushed drum’n'bass’s experimental spirit into increasingly brave, unchartered areas. Remixing for the likes of Jay Z and The Prodigy and now with Brand New Machine’s kaleidoscopic sound, they’ve rebooted their reputation as the one of most exciting production teams on the scene. Joining them for the DJ set will be MC Rage.

Retuning to Rhythm and Vines after an extremely successful year on home soil and abroad is brother and sister duo, Broods. They are the most celebrated young band to emerge out of New Zealand in recent times. Working with producer Joel Little (Lorde) they announced their arrival with glossy synth-pop ballads 'Bridges', 'Never Gonna Change' and their self-titled debut EP. They have performed across the US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Along the way they've shared stages with Ellie Goulding, Haim, CHVRCHES, and just finished supporting breakout English pop star Sam Smith on his sold out US tour. They've also headlined their own sold-out appearances, and set the internet alight with their third single 'Mother & Father'. In August this year things went white hot for them with the release of their Joel Little produced debut album Evergreen, debuting at #1 on the New Zealand Albums Chart and #5 on the Australian Albums Chart. Last year’s Rhythm and Vines marked their first ever festival performance, and we can’t wait to welcome them back.

Delta Heavy are Simon James and Ben Hall who met at Nottingham University in 2003 where they quickly established themselves as credible newcomers on the drum and bass scene. Their debut release appeared on Viper’s acclaimed Acts Of Mad Men compilation in June 2009, they signed to drum & bass mogul Andy C’s Ram, label home of Chase & Status and Sub Focus. They have remixed for Nero, Example, Avicii and Tinie Tempah. Influenced as much by UK drum & bass as the recent explosion of dance music in the US, Delta Heavy will bring a live show not be missed.

Grandtheft is a Producer/DJ based in Toronto, who has slayed clubs worldwide and is respected as one of the best live DJs Canada has to offer. Grandtheft's productions have garnered heavy support from the likes of Diplo, Major Lazer, A-Trak, Flosstradamus, Skream, Zeds Dead and BBC debuts from Annie Mac and Mista Jam. In 2012, Grandtheft collaborated with Diplo to remix Calvin Harris and Florence Welch's hit 'Sweet Nothing'. Released on Ultra, the remix became a worldwide smash in and of itself, garnering over 4 Million plays on Soundcloud and climbing to the Top 10 on the iTunes Dance Chart. Grandtheft kicked off 2014 with a Las Vegas residency at Surrender and tour dates across North America and will end this tour with a live set at R&V.

Unfortunately due to circumstances out of our control, The Cuban Brothers, Ayah Marar and Action Bronson are no longer able to play Rhythm & Vines.

The internationally acclaimed three day music festival, Rhythm and Vines, showcases the world’s best musicians in one of the most picturesque locations to welcome in the new year, the Waiohika Estate Vineyard in Gisborne, New Zealand.

There is no other place in New Zealand where you can see this many international and local acts over 3 days at such an amazing price.

Onsite camping in Bass camp has SOLD OUT. You can still enjoy the ultimate R&V experience and camp amongst the vines in Mid or Treble Camp, and there is limited availability for renting a Gisborne bach or hotel.
