PRESS RELEASE:

Dinosaur Jr frontman J Mascis has confirmed three February solo shows around New Zealand in both acoustic and electric mode.

Tickets for all three shows are available from Ticketmaster.co.nz and UnderTheRadar from 9am Thursday November 20.

Mascis was last in New Zealand performing a sold out Dinosaur Jr. concert in Auckland in March 2013.

2014 has been quite a year for J Mascis – he released his acclaimed solo album Tied To A Star, has busily toured solo and with Dinosaur Jr, and guested with a reformed Nirvana in Brooklyn, New York in April.

Mascis on tour will perform material from Tied To A Star and 2012's glorious Several Shades Of Why, as well as selecting from the catalogue of the legendary Dinosaur Jr, and no doubt a unique take on a cover or two.

“And though he plugs in for strategic, ripping solos throughout Tied to a Star, highlights like Wide Awake – which barely breaks a whisper – show that Mascis is now as skilled at quiet as he is with loud.” (Rolling Stone 2014).

“Mascis had thrilled us, making everyone's eyes twinkle as they sat back, marvelled and at times even levitated due to his astonishing guitar playing” (AU Review 2012).

The tour is proudly presented by Plus1, Undertheradar and Radio Hauraki.
