Lorde Cleans Up New Zealand Music Awards 2014

Lorde Cleans Up New Zealand Music Awards 2014

Friday 21st November, 2014 9:25AM

As was predicted by many music fans, Lorde was the big winner at the Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards last night. The songstress will be adding six shiny new Tuis to her already overflowing trophy shelf after receiving the awards for Album Of The Year, Single Of The Year, Best Female Solo Artist, Best Pop Album, Highest Selling Single and the International Achievement Award - for the second year running. In typical Lorde style she spoke straight from the heart, saying: "Holy crap, thank you. It seems crazy to think it's been only a year since I was sat right there, opening the music awards."

Other winners on the night:

David Dallas - Best Male Solo Artist and Best Urban / Hip Hop Album
Stan Walker - NZ On Air Radio Airplay and Vodafone People’s Choice Award
Broods - Breakthrough Artist of the Year
The Naked And Famous - Steinlager Pure Best Group Award
Blacklistt - Best Rock Album
Tiny Ruins - Best Alternative Album
