Listen/Watch: Blur - Go Out

Friday 20th February, 2015 9:42AM

Blur fans will be ecstatic to learn that the band has announced their first record in 12 years. Titled The Magic Whip, the forthcoming album began life in 2013 when the Britpop icons were taking a five-day break from touring and laid down the tracks at Avon Studios in Hong Kong, however they were shelved when the band finished touring. Then, late last year Blur's lead guitarist Graham Coxon revisited the recordings and recruited the services of producer Stephen Street (who worked with the band on Modern Life Is Rubbish, Parklife and Blur), and Damon Albarn added lyrics to the songs. And so, The Magic Whip was born. The album is due out in April, but you can take a first taste of the album now with lead single 'Go Out', which is accompanied by an apt video of a woman making ice cream. Enjoy!
