Dunedin trio Death and the Maiden are poised to release their self-titled debut record later this month, and in anticipation they have unveiled shadowy single 'War Dance'. The three-piece pulls together the talents of Lucinda (bass guitar, vocals), Danny Brady (synth and drum programming) and Hope Robertson (guitar, vocals, drums) who as a group craft darkly hypnotic tunes that explore themes of love, loss and decay. The full seven-track album is due out on 20th March through local label Fishrider Records, in the meantime soak up the moody 'War Dance' below...
Death And The Maiden play at Wine Cellar in Auckland on Friday 27th March and at Moon in Wellington on Saturday 28th March, see below for more details.
