PRESS RELEASE:

MARK SULTAN

“The best one-man band in the world” Mark Sultan (Les Sexareenos, the Spaceshits King Khan and BBQ Show) is bringing his unique rock ‘n’ roll show to New Zealand this July

Expect a night of early rock'n'roll, psych, doo wop, early r&b, garage punk and punk rock all thrown in a pot and simmered over his incredible soulful vocals.

“Sultan is a volatile force majeure of garage rock, doo wop and rhythm & blues, spiked with the agitated snarl of take-no-shit punk rock.” - CMJ

Mark Sultan will release a new album on LA's infamous In The Red Records, mid 2015, and is sharing a brand new track 'Agitated' from the as-yet-untitled full length. Mark's going by his original moniker 'BBQ' on this record, one he hasn't used on a solo album since Bomp! Records' 'Tie Your Noose' in 2005.

Mark has released music on Bomp!, Sub Pop, In The Red, Crypt, Goner, Fat Possum, Hozac, Norton, Vice, Sympathy and Dirtnap.

He formed bands including The King Khan & BBQ Show, Almighty Defenders, Ding-Dongs, Les Sexareenos and The Spaceshits. He has toured the world over, from the US to Israel to Russia to Japan to Brazil to New Zealand to Europe, from Carnegie Hall to The Sydney Opera House.

Do not miss out on one of the finest voices in rock ‘n’ roll with an endless thread of musical gems!
