Dr Joctopus live at Space Academy 3rd of May 2024

Following the success of his debut show in September of last year, Doctorjoctopus, (Jono Blackie), returns for a second round at Space Academy, presenting an electrifying new live set on a 360-degree stage.

Starting in 2022, Jono's passion for blending live acoustic drums with traditional computer and DJ-dominated music genres, such as drum and bass, was sparked by an idea from his older brother. Inspired by the utilization of 60s funk drum solos in creating some of today's most popular drum and bass tracks, Jono sought to replicate them live on the drum kit. After a year of development, he premiered his innovative live show, fusing well-known drum and bass tunes with his drum kit, at the Darkroom. With a positive reception and confidence in the concept's execution, he has elevated the complexity, duration, and sonic scope of his performance this year, delivering a more jungle DNB-focused set at Space Academy.
