Ke Lo Ke Live

Tour Information
Get ready for an electrifying night of Cuban rhythms that will transport you to the heart of Havana! Join us at Ponsonby Social Club on Friday 26 April, and let Ke lo Ke band take you on a musical journey not to be forgotten.

Immerse yourself in the vibrant sounds of Cuba as ten international musicians from Cuba, Chile, Peru, England, and Aotearoa come together to ignite the stage. They'll be grooving to the infectious beats of Salsa, Timba, Rumba, Son, Cha-Cha-Cha, Mambo, Afro-Cuban Jazz, and Bolero.

Ke lo Ke is not just any band; they are a fusion of some of New Zealand's most exceptional Latin and jazz musicians, each a master of their craft. These talented artists traverse different eras and genres of Cuban music while paying homage to its Afro-Cuban roots. Their music channels the spirit of Cuban music legends and Grammy Award-winning icons such as Irakere, Buena Vista Social Club, Los Van Van, Alexander Abreu & Habana De Primera, and Mexican-American sensation Poncho Sanchez.

Founded in 2022 by Isbert Ramos Mediaceja 'Vivio', a pioneer of Cuban music and dance in New Zealand, Ke lo Ke brings together a brilliant ensemble of musicians. You may recognise the band members from their work in bands such as Havana Groove, Cameleon Afro-Latino, Matecito Latin Band, Calle Latina, Son de Cuba, C-26, Kevin Field Band, Auckland Jazz Orchestra, New Bop Quintet, Panacea and Goldsmith Baynes. Their combined talent and passion promises an exhilarating night with all the flavour of Cuba!
