The Gunsmiths are not just a band, they are a tribe of twangs and thuds!
Hailing from the dusty alleys of Ponsonby, the Gunsmiths are a musical triathelete, oozing authentic and dynamic Hendrix and SRV sounds.
Apart from a growing list of originals, you may find tastes of Johny A, Brian Setzer, Joe Bosamama, Rory Gallagher, Cream and Robben Ford amongst others.
Paul Smith, the band’s singer, songwriter, guitarist is still being reincarnated, and inspired by the spirits of the great guitar masters after evolving from New Zealand’s earliest known Dunedin original bands from their base at the Captain Cook Tavern.
Lynn (Vinnie) Buchanan is a proffessional drummer and drum teacher, a seasoned skin session man who has worked with Roger Fox, Dragon and Tommy Emmanule amongst many others.
Paul Merriot is a superb bass player who has worked his craft performing and recording with a number of prominent bands and musicians throughout New Zealand and Canada.
Paul lays down the groove so smooth it’s guaranteed to make you move.
The band has their own studio and are now working hard on creating their own original line up of songs and brand.
