Eddie Numbers is quite possibly the best act you’ve never heard (yet); with his organic style of rap it is hard to guess what rhyme will come next listening to one of his well crafted poetic verses.
This 23 year old MC has been rapping in Auckland’s underground since high school.
When asked about what his style is he refers to himself as a 'street commentator ' (ear to the street but the traffic is too loud to speak) reporting on stories that affect him on a personal level and sometimes issues that affect the greater society but never talking about things he can’t relate to or knows nothing about. He has an honest streetwise approach when on the microphone.
In June 2010 releasing his first EP 'Cracks In The Evening ‘, a refreshing original production that has received positive responses by listeners and showcases Eddie Numbers lyrical skill over well crafted beats .
With Eddie Numbers live performance, the ‘Numbers’ part of the name represents his band which consists of 6 members including himself. Numbers put together an exciting high energy show playing hip hop tracks with a full live band and crossing across genres.
Also live Eddie Numbers gets a chance to demonstrate his ability to freestyle, rapping off the top of his head about the day’s events, people in the crowd or whatever’s happening that night, proving his authenticity to the crowd .It is also a crowd winner when suddenly they are part of a verse.
This London born MC is currently working with some noted producers on a follow up to 'Cracks in The Evening’
