Shayle began playing guitar at the age of 7 and by 11 he was mastering his first electric guitar. By 12 he had outgrown four guitar teachers and the back of his first guitar had long since come apart from the amount of playing he did. That same year Shayle's life was changed forever by his attendance at a Tommy Emmanuel concert. Shayle knew from this moment on that the guitar was to be not only his passion but his career. It was at this point that Shayle decided to play finger style guitar and he continues to perfect the technique today. 2009 saw Shayle jamming with Tommy before Tommy’s Auckland concert. Shayle was hooked and soon travelled to America completing Tommy's elite "Guitar Master Class" course and touring solo for four months. Here Shayle earned himself the nickname "The thunder from downunder" due to his explosive energy and his style of playing. Now back in New Zealand Shayle has passionately continued to hone his guitar skills and remains a long serving member of G.A.N.Z (the Guitar Association of New Zealand) featuring in several of their Auckland community events. Shayle is a confident, reliable performer who adds that something special to every event. Shayle is quoted as being "The best new guitar talent around" and "Shayle is fresh, talented, reliable and a true professional." He regularly performs at corporate events, cocktail parties, weddings, graduations, awards ceremonies, cruises and many other engagements and functions.
