About The Mad Hatterz Band from Auckland
The Mad Hatterz Band have been causing some excitement recently with their hard to pin down style, somewhere between folk, rock, country and even a little jazz. The band includes the virtuosic violin playing of Murray van Hoorn who joined the band last year along with Phil Hayhoe on lead guitar who’s tasteful guitar licks take the sound into uncharted musical waters. Driven by the inventive rhythm section of Menno Besseling on percussion and Bo van der Bemd on double bass. The band are formed around the song writing and vocals of Andy Hamilton. He has released two albums, the most recent being the 2006 solo album called “In the Palm of Your Hand.” Surrounded by the Mad Hatterz his love songs and insightful lyrics have been imbued with a beautiful tapestry of sonic wizardry and they know how to rock as well just when you’ve been lulled into a sense of relaxed bliss.
