David Apple
About David Apple from Auckland
David Apple released an EP on London based indie label Transgressive Records in 2006 under the guise 'The Human Knives'. A project born out of covering songs by post-punk revival band The Young Knives using only synthesisers and drum machines. The EP was released in the UK on seven inch, red vinyl and limited to 500 copies. David played one very exclusive gig as The Human Knives in Oxford supporting Friendly Fires. During this time, David was also running his own music magazine called House of Tracks.
David moved to New Zealand at the start of 2010 and has since been busy building a catalogue of remix work. His new EP simply titled 'Remix' showcases David's best remix work to date. It includes remixes of London based anti-folk band David Cronenberg's Wife, Auckland based singer/songwriter Luckless (AKA Ivy Rossiter), garage rock three-piece Autumn Splendour and goth pop duo Cat Venom.
