About Jandal from Auckland

Bibliography: “ Jandal”

Jandal: Just A Normal Day At Lynfield….

Lynfield College is were we met, and thru the love of music we formed a bond, a bond that would grow into 25 years of brother like friends, that make a unique and original style of music…. Jandal music! From walking around in jandals, jamming on guitars, wagging classes and running a muck at school, to now, many moons later, still jamming, still running a muck, only to have developed into a tight, skanking, rock reggae band with a huge back catalog of original tunes..

As we all come from different backgrounds and have different but similar music influences from: heavymetal,rock,reggae,dub,ska,punk,dance,drum&bass,--to old blues, jazz, and rock and roll.. which all have a part to play in our mixed up,mashed up, very original kiwi sound.

Over the years and as we got better we had friends and acquaintances come and go, playing on various instruments and forever evolving the jandal sound.

We officially formed and started gigging live in 1993 and have had hundreds of gigs since, some awesome and some not so awesome(esp early on) but the stand outs were two years head lining gig called “The Alley”, a new market festival with 10 other bands on the main stage.. Opening for numerous bands at “The Kings Arms”(runninghouse,Pluto,etc..) and head lining “The Otorohanga motorbike convention”, to name just a few..
