Penelope The are a progressive rock trio with a raw grit to their sound. Their demo recordings have been compared to the likes of Them Crooked Vultures. Limitless is the word that comes to mind after hearing a set packed with musical interest. Each member is stylistically different ranging from blues, grunge and metal, combining to create their unique sound.

Formed in late 2009, all three members have immense musical experience under their belts and are all well studied in music. Their talents were recognized in the 2010 York Street Studios Band Experiments where they came in second out of the 40 bands that entered.

Continuously wanting to challenge themselves musically, Penelope The write selfishly whilst keeping their trademark catchy hooks which the crowds love so much.

Penelope The have performed with some of New Zealand’s local greats – The Lookie Loos and Milktrain and have also been in the lineup for Great Heart for Rock in Auckland, Black Thursdays and the annual Hamilton Circle Jerk.
