'Awatea' is a soul/funk band lead by Charles Royal. They describe their music as 'Aotearoa songs of life and love'. Awatea music is Aotearoa music - life, love, loss, joy, pain and sorrow expressed through musical styles that capture and reflect the energies of this beautiful land. They use English and Māori in their songs.
