The Gary Harvey Band

Gary Harvey: Bass and Vocals - Gary has been very prominent in the New Zealand music scene. He's also done a couple of tours of duty in the UK during the 70's and Texas in the 90's. His time in the UK brought him close to the "big time" on a number of occasions - he auditioned for Free when their bass player resigned, got the job but contractual obligations (either the band stayed together or their management would no longer support them) ended that. SuperTramp asked him to join, but he didn't like their music.... and also Stealers Wheel offered him a job, before they too achieved major success, but at the time other commitments took priority. So NZ has seen him play with amongst others Sonny Day, Black and Blue and The Red House Rockers. He's opened for George Thorogood, The Fabulous Thunderbirds and a few notable others.
