Coming together from across New Zealand and now hailing from
Auckland, Ethanol 58's melodic, hard rock band, is without a doubt the next big
thing. Let their music enthrall you with
haunting lyrical truths, addictive melodies and the edgiest of guitar riffs. An
intoxicating bass, driving drums and some of the most advanced computer
programming combine to create the wall of sound that is Ethanol 58. These five
young men proudly entertain with untamable, pure rock talent on every level.
The boys met in late 2007 at a musical education institution, and made the
earth shake at their debut performance.
The following shows caused aftershocks and have been creating a buzz all
over the Auckland music scene ever since.
A Trans-Tasman calling reduced the boys to a four piece for a few months,
but some persuasion and patience saw the band return with a full ensemble of
educated musicians. This was reflected
by getting the opportunity to open for Redline on their album release
tour. Ethanol's unparalleled mix of
musicianship and captivating stage presence are sending them straight to the
top.
This combination has seen the band rise to success in the
inaugural Emergenza International Music festival, (www.emergenza.net) where
Ethanol placed second in New Zealand, and landed the “Best Guitarist”
award. More recently, the boys seduced
judges and audiences alike to place third in the country in another worldwide
band competition, “Global Battle of the Bands”.

Ethanol 58 has recently released their debut EP in November 2009. This culminated in a large release party and
consistent follow up shows all over Auckland City. After receiving favourable
reviews in NZMusician magazine, Ethanol 58 are embarking on a nationwide tour
in June/July 2010, with South Island band Doppler. More show details can be found online.
Their self titled, four track CD will be available for all
you die hard fans at gigs! With more studio time coming up this year they are
set to be dominating your air ways soon! The boys are working towards an album
release in 2011.
