I'll do my best here: Michael J Hex was a musician from Christchurch who was active throughout the 90s, releasing 3 solo albums (mostly recorded on 4 track cassette recorder) and a bunch of other albums in other bands. His music was as New Zealand as it gets - charming, jangly pop songs with a sinister twist at times and a healthy dose of noise. He sadly died from pneumonia sometime in the early 2000s and was never given his due recognition as an incredible songwriter and true innovator. He was a huge influence on me and I too would like to know more about him. His albums were self released and are probably very hard to find. Your best bet would be searching indie record stores around NZ. I'd be happy to copy them for you. I'm sure he'd like to have his music heard by people who care. I spoke to him once on the phone about 10 years ago and was going to meet him to trade some music, however I just missed him and never got to meet him or see him play live. R.I.P.
