Pink Floyd original Richard Wright dies

Pink Floyd have recently been in the headlines with rumors of re-formation and tours but today it was sadly announced that Richard Wright, co-founding member and keyboard player for Pink Floyd, has died aged 65 from cancer.

David Gilmour has paid tribute to Wright from his website

“No one can replace Richard Wright. He was my musical partner and my friend,” “In the welter of arguments about who or what was Pink Floyd, Rick's enormous input was frequently forgotten”.

Wright appeared on the first Pink Floyd album, The Piper at the Gates of Dawn in 1967.
