user image No real 'must see' artist or band for me in this line up... Neil Young is good for the oldies but BDO isn't really for the majority of older folk... artic monkeys etc. will get a few thru the gates, don't see 2 many people rushing to see prodigy again for there fourth time here... next announcement really needs to be really solid with some rock artists and probably one big metal band for the metalheads if the organisers want this to sell out, but probably will as it is anyway

user image Must say this line up is far better than BDO 08 already, tiki again though...
CSS was rumoured, anybody know if thet are coming???
I cant wait to see Neil Young, probley the last time he would be over this way.
Artic Monkeys would be great to see live, they are awesome...loved their lastest album, alot tighter then the other.
I have to see The Prodigy, Keith is still the coolest red head alive...
CANT WAIT!!!!

user image pretty ave looking right now but they still have time to fill it out with something good, really lookn forward to pendulum again, they were so awesome this earlier this year! AH ROBBIENZ, u musta bin on a bad trip or sumthing if u didn't think they were awesome! would love to see some awesome smaller bands get involved such as: coheed and cambria and haste the day, not to mention if the bands going to soundwave came over, well that would be so freaking amazing i may just have to pass out! bring on the in flames! lets hope the next anouncements are better!

user image prodigy will be good, so will tiki. But pendulum hmmmmmm, saw them earlier this year and they were average. We need more DNB, bring on Noisia...

user image will the Arctic Monkeys be doing a gig by themselves??? i dont wanna go to the Big Day Out only to see them; id rather see them in their own show ;)

user image Id pay that much for TVOTR and Neil Young alone.

but Im still hoping for some more newer, indie bands.

Have the BDO promoters heard of Pitchfork?

user image HOLY CRAP! I'm freakn psychd about the arctic monkeys! I've waited years for this :D

user image Worst Lineup Ever! Looks like they've really been picking over the 'Where are they now' files... Sure, most of these bands have been extremely popular or successful at one time or another, but it's 2008 for Christ's sake! Next they'll be bringing back The Darkness and Franz Ferdinand.

Maybe the fact that they're opting for yesterdays bands says something about the state of music right now?

user image There seems to be more and local acts appearing at the BDO, both here and in Australia, this is what makes the bill boring as you can see most of these artists throughout the year.

user image Second announcement is in early November. The worst thing about this is the fact that not one of the acts is a surprise. Pretty rubbish if you ask me.

user image Pretty solid announcement I reckon. TVOTR, Simian Mobile Disco, The Prodigy, Arctic Monkeys make it worth the while for me. Looking forward to it.

user image Well... Didn't reeally live up to the speculation... But I'm excited about Arctic Monkeys def! and naked and famous, ting tings.. could quite easily go see a few more... Bring on the 2nd announcement! Does anyone know when the 2nd announcement will be?

user image Pendulum AND prodigy!!!! what more could you ask for!!... maybe shapeshifter?

user image Neil Young and TV On The Radio - awesome! Artic Monkeys will be good to see live. The rest is okay - the only thing that I really don't agree with is Luger Boa - I mean talk about riding your industry contacts.

user image Artic Monkey's are a big pull for me, but still short another show stopper and the Big Day Out has generally been short of fresh up and comers in a last few years. Be interesting to see if they right that with the next announcement.

Weezer would clinch it for me. Beck, CSS, Black Kids, NIN would all be awesome. As would Lyrics Born, Atmosphere or One Day As A Lion.

user image you missed out the arctic monkeys! i read this announcement first and was slightly gutted but the monkeys make it all better. Maybe theyll play a new song thats been produced with Josh Homme? who knows!?!?!
