An Emerald City and Kerretta On Tour
Lock up your daughters, bust out your earplugs and dust off your record player, two of NZ's most exciting live acts are joining forces to play a few shows around the North Island in February.
An Emerald City are back on the live circuit after recording (in a cave!) their forthcoming debut album and fresh from their stand out performance at The Big Day Out. They'll be releasing their debut album in the next couple months after which they'll be moving over to Berlin to live and love. So don't miss your opportunity to catch these guys live before they take off.
For those who have seen their blistering live show, Kerretta will no doubt be high on the "to see" gig agenda. Those yet to experience the propulsive, driving rock from this instrumental three-piece have a chance to see them push the envelope of tone and dynamics in an intense set. Their catchy, sometimes ambient brand of molten-core will appeal to fans of Sigur Ros and Bailterspace, but discerning listeners will know the trio peddle a uniquely atmospheric take on angular rock. A performance in The Big Day Out 2008 helped them share stages with Explosions In The Sky, Jakob and more recently North American band, The Breeders.
An Emerald City and Kerretta play:
Auckland, Jan 31st at Monte Cristo Room (next door to TOTO Restaurant on Nelson St)
Napier, Feb 5th at Cabana Bar
Hamilton, Feb 13th at Flow Bar
Wellington, Feb 14th at Happy Bar
