Press Release:

With a hurtling rhythm section, erratic and explosive guitars and vocal melodies and harmonies that send shivers to the nether regions, Motocade’s musical style has made an imprint in amongst the New Zealand alternative populous.

The four piece indie rock band from Auckland have built themselves a strong live following over the last few years, having toured extensively throughout New Zealand as well as performing in Australia. Motocade will embark on a highly anticipated ten date national tour throughout June and July showcasing new material from their debut album, ‘Tightrope Highway’, and will be supported on tour by young indie up-and-comers Clap Clap Riot and F In Math (ex-Mint Chick Michael Logie).

Released in April this year ‘Tightrope Highway’ has received critical acclaim, with catchy first single ‘Oldest Trick In The Book’ firmly securing Motocade on alternative and commercial radio throughout the country. The medical-meets-music video for ‘Oldest Trick In The Book’ was directed by innovative director Tim Van Dammen (Collapsing Cities), who has also worked on the video for soon to be released title single ‘Tightrope Highway’.

After forming in 2005, Motocade released their self titled EP in 2006, followed by the ‘Into the Fall’ EP released in 2007. Both were well received and showed the depth of the band plus their ability to transcend rock, indie and explore experimental pop avenues. Motocade have gone onto play at a range of New Zealand’s largest music festivals including the Big Day Out, Home Grown and Rhythm and Vines as well as at high profile events such as NZ Fashion Week, and the APRA Silver Scroll Awards. Motocade were also applauded for a stand out performance supporting New York based band The Bravery on their recent New Zealand tour.

With a style that fits somewhere in amongst the intensity of The Strokes, the groove of Talking Heads and the scattered beauty of early Kings Of Leon, seeing Motocade live is something not to be missed.
