Jens Lekman NZ Tour 2010

The good news just keeps rolling in with Jens Lekman confirmed to be playing two solo shows on top of his show with Joanna Newsom that was announced last week.  Spunk Records announced today that Jens will play Auckland and another show in Christchurch - the dates are:

Like a modern day Chet Baker, Swedish pop troubadour Jens Lekman loves to sing about heartache. Since releasing ‘Night Falls Over Kortedala’ in 2007, Jens has divided his time between his home in Gothenburg and Australia, having spent the majority of 2008 and 2009 living in the inner-city in Melbourne writing, recording, and playing the occasional show.

After a few practise backyard gigs in Melbourne and Sydney Jens is taking to the road again, heading to America for a New Years Eve ‘End Of The Decade’ performance in Chicago and then making his way to New Zealand for some solo shows and to support Spunk label mate Joanna Newsom at her concert in Christchurch.

Both Jen’s charming, witty lyrics and playful, well-crafted pop melodies and his personable live shows have won him fans all over the world. Even Drew Barrymore is a supporter, the actor and director recently flying Jens to America to convince him to allow some of his music to be used in her latest feature film ‘Whip It’.

Don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy Jens’ well-crafted songs in two intimate shows before he heads back to Melbourne to continue writing songs for his next album.
