Pixies Second Show Sells Out In Less Than A Minute

According to Ticketmaster, the second Pixies show being held at the Powerstation sold out in less than a minute this morning. Presales were snapped up at a similar rate on Tuesday.

There were 1100 tickets up for grabs and after reading a few comments on the site we spoke to the publicist who said there were absolutely no comps, review passes or giveaways for the show and it was at the bands request that the show be kept to an intimate number.

Congrats to the lucky ones.

Just got our seats we picked in march switched to much much poorer tickets, no explanation at all !

Seeing the Pixies at the Powerstation will be unbeatable.

I got tickets - you have to be prepared.

You cant expect to go to their site at exactly the time specified as their clocks or yours might be slow/fast.

Best to start trying up to 5 minutes early and refresh the page untill it appears

pre-register an account

pre-register a credit card

all these factors make it quicker for the system to process you

Yeah I got tickets on Tues, had my cc details loaded and was refreshing from 11.55pm. Also I reckon people would have been buying as many tickets as possible so there really was probably only around 200 buyers for each allocation.

It's just luck - like those Grab a seat deals - I never get those bloody things!

yeah im so stunned that I got some. I also had made an account with all my details loaded up as well, a few days earlier. I wss shaking like a leaf when it was confirmed I got them. But yeah, they should let the public know, how many are up for presale vs public. I saw on Trademe last night, a few people just put up auctions asking to swap Vector for Powerstation, but they have since been removed. It wouldnt surprise me if people selling Powerstation tickets on Trademe, if the prices go through the roof.

we missed out on the vector tickets and were gutted...so for the powerstation tickets we had 3 people online, I had two sessions going, and we just hit refresh etc nonstop and just as I got in i got a txt from my mate who got the tickets. we were also very dubious about ticket allocation after the vector sell out, but i guess we're pretty happy with this outcome! a stack of tickets popping up on trade me now for vector...

I got mine at approx 20 seconds past 9am. Helped I had a Ticketmaster account and credit card details preloaded I would say.
Im amazed we got them.

Something about this whole ticket allocation system stinks to high heaven. I have tried to get tickets for the presale for Vector, then GA at Vector, then the Powerstation presale, then Powerstation GA , all online and bang on the allocated time - no luck with any of it. One second the tickets are not available , the next it's "find tickets" and then they are immediately unavailable again. WTF? Ticketmaster must have a LOT of servers able to be able sell hundreds/thousands of tickets simultaneously within a 2 second timeframe. Suspicious?Moi? Would be nice if they or the promoter at least came clean about what the go was with this so next time we can just get on with our work and not waste our time on bull*hit online ticket purchase systems. Feels like a rigged lottery. And yes I am p*ssed off bigtime obviously. It's enough to make one very cynical indeed.

I tried to get some on Tuesday, but I had no clue what the code was :( HOWEVER.....this morning I was on at 8:59 and just kept hitting refresh and somehow I got some. I went back to check if there were any left at about 9:01 and there was zip!

I tried both on the presale and today to get tickets and was on at the stroke of 9 today and 12 on Tuesday and still failed. Would love to know how those that got tickets managed it.

I think it sold out in roughly 2 seconds as I tried bang on 9 and had no luck :(

Would be interested to know how many were allocated to the presale vs the general public.
