Video: Justin Townes Earle - Slippin and Slidin

Regrettably we missed Justin Townes Earl when he played NZ last year, he was amazing apparently, but he has a new album just out called Harlem River Blues so hopefully we get a second chance.

Here is a video of him performing "Slippin' and Slidin'" from the new album:

Incidentally, when we were watching this video yesterday news came in that Earl had recently been arrested and briefly jailed for some rock-star style behaviour after a recent show in the US. Apparently he drunkenly swore at the crowd, hecklers mainly, then stormed off stage and trashed the dressing room and abused the venue owners - click HERE for the full story.

Pity if he is back on the bottle - he was clean when he played here last year, and this year when he played with Wilco. I shot a video of him at Bodega here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P2pNxXOHW-8 He was bloody amazing!!

I got to meet him twice when he was in NZ. He said that he was planning on being back here early next year, and hoped to be able to bring a band.
