Video Compilation: Andreas Nilsson
Tuesday, 4th January 2011 10:58AMAndreas Nilsson has been floating around YouTube for a few years now, quietly directing video clips that perfectly represent on film the music of the respective song.
The first video I discovered was to accompany this beautifully minimalist track from Scandinavian duo Wildbirds and Peacedrums 'There is no Light'. Reflecting the minimalism this drum and vocal duo encompass, it is a perfect example of utilizing subtle tactics for maximum effect.
And then he started popping up all over the place, firstly with these ones:
And more recently with these mega videos. Firstly 'Madder Red' (featuring Forgetting Sarah Marshall star Kristen Bell) by Yeasayer, who are headlining this year's Laneway Festival:
And then for MGMT (who are also coming to New Zealand in the New Year!) and their single 'Flash Delirium,' available to view HERE.
It's awesome to see such an original and creative talent lending his handiwork to some industry heavy hitters, who obviously share a similar aesthetic.
