AUSTRALASIAN TOUR CONFIRMED FOR JULY 2011!

With merely a fortnight to go until the release of their highly anticipated new album Endgame, Rise Against have a massive announcement for Australasian fans to tide them over; a tour of Australia and New Zealand this July!
The Chicago quartet comprised of Tim McIlrath, Zach Blair, Joe Principe and Brandon Barnes will return this year for their first headlining tour since their completely sold out national tour of March 2009. Expect to hear old and new songs alike (new album Endgame out 11 March from Universal).
The band’s massive 2009 tour and 2010 Big Day Out performances were highly lauded for their relentless energy and imprinted on all in attendance:
‘One of the best gigs I have to been to this year… an amazing night which, to the people there confirmed Rise Against as one of the great Punk bands of our time.’ – FasterLouder.com.au
‘The crowd was hooked, engaged and respondent to the hypnotic sounds of the band, and they bashed and crashed their way through…As the final chord fell, the crowd was left sweaty, with an aura of satisfaction floating around the room.’ – NovaFM.com.au
‘The commitment and energy that exuded from the band for the entire set was admirable…still roaring at a million miles an hour.’ – Beat Magazine
Rise Against’s previous release Appeal To Reason (2008) debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200 and reached the ARIA Album Chart Top 10 upon its release. Endgame features the band’s trademark conscientious breed of punk rock infused with heaving riffs and lyrical dexterity.
To add to the excitement, legendary hardcore punk band Sick Of It All will be joining Rise Against on their Winter tour. The band, formed in 1986, is one of the most revered heavyweights within their genre and their longevity is as renowned as their classic New York hardcore anthems.
‘Few bands stay together for more than 20 years, and even fewer are responsible for some of the greatest hardcore punk on record. Sick Of It All have managed to do both.’ – Kerrang.com
Opening the tour at all Australian shows are Break Even. The Perth natives have previously toured with Have Heart, Bane and Polar Bear Club and their debut The Bright Side came in runner up on Triple J’s ‘Short Fast Loud’ Top 100 albums for 2009.
This tour is guaranteed to satiate fans all across Australia and New Zealand dying for a taste of quality punk rock and a staple must-see.
