YellowFever Announce NZ Shows

YellowFever Announce NZ Shows

Thursday 7th April, 2011 8:06AM

Wow what an awesome surprise this is...Austin duo YellowFever have been announced for two shows in May. We caught these guys in NY last year and really loved them - uniquely positioned along with the likes of Young Marble Giants and Stereo Lab with their undeniable Texan slant - we will surely not be missing them live here and highly recommend you check them out also...

Wednesday 11 May, Wine Cellar - Auckland
Friday 13 May, Happy - Wellington

Videos for them are pretty hard to find on account of their name but here is a goodin from a few years back. They are performing "Culver City" from their self-titled debut at Death By Audio in Brooklyn.

Press Release:

YellowFever - Infecting NEW ZEALAND

YELLOWFEVER, the captivating minimalist art-pop duo are poised and ready to pounce as they prepare for their inaugural visit to Australia and New Zealand throughout April and May.

Following on from a string of US dates the pair will be invading Australia like an infectious disease. Hailing from Austin Texas, the band has released a stringof EPs and singles, which in 2009 were compiled onto theirself-titled album. Their first official albumis in the works andwill be on a record store shelf near you later in 2011.

Applying drums, guitar, organ and synth bass to their jerky rhythms and willowy arrangements YellowFever is Jennifer Mooreand Adam Jones, a highly talented kooky pair who manage to perfectly balance the complex with the refreshingly sparse

Jennifer's arresting vocals add a restrained sophistication to the garage-y undertow; think Stereolab covering early Go-Betweens, or Young Marble Giants, if they had existed in Dunedin in the early eighties…

Catch the ultimate YellowFever at these venues in late autumn....
