Freddy Fudd Pucker Announce Album Release Tour

Tuesday 31st May, 2011 4:08PM

Freddy Fudd Pucker are a New Zealand by way of US band who have been living in Melbourne for the past eight months. They've played over 100 shows in the States where they have toured twice (for three months at a time) in the last couple of years, although they haven't forgotten about New Zealand, returning for various shows including Campus a Low Hum. They are on the verge of releasing their latest album, The Priest, The Fly and The Flea, and are returning for an all-bases covered album release tour.
Check out their tour dates here as well as a track from their forthcoming album and more information, from the press release, below.

From the press release:
Freddy Fudd Pucker has been residing in Melbourne, Australia for the last 8 months, bar a couple of brief visits to New Zealand for 2011’s Camp A Low Hum and mini-tours. And though they’ve been busily building a following of fans in Australia, the roads of North America are calling again.
They’ve toured the USA for 3 months at a time, twice in the last two years. The duo (Tom Young from NZ & Sarah Gautier from Austin, TX) have performed everywhere from Los Angeles, CA to Brooklyn, NY, Jacksonville, FL to Deadwood, SD. With over 100 US shows under their belt they are no strangers to tour vans, cheap beer, tacos and sleeping on strangers’ floors.
However, before heading back to the Texan summer the folk/punk duo are returning to NZ for a mid-winter tour in support of their last album “The Priest, the Fly & the Flea”. This album of 13 dark, rhythmically eclectic folk songs scattered with intricate melodies, cynical humour and scathing accounts of humans in the modern western world.
They’ll be bringing these songs to their favorite towns around NZ. Naturally, they will be playing several shows in Dunedin and Wellington. Accompanying them will be the Australian solo act Danny Cisco.
