Whilst not entirely well received, few could fault the Brian Eno effect on Peter Jackon's film-adaptation of Alice Sebold's novel The Lovely Bones. His dark ambient electronic work served the film beautifully as it set up the surreal, celestial world of teenage murder victim Susie Salmon (narrator) from where she watches over the tragic real world of her family and her murderer.

Here are a couple of Eno tracks pertinent to the atmosphere and dramatic impact of the film and head over here to The Playlist for the full tracklist.

"The Big Ship" from Another Green World (1975)

"1/1" from Ambient 1: Music For Airports (1978) - edited for the film:

Van Morrisons Celtic Swing stole the show in the closing credits... Touché whoever placed that... Not a fan of VM myself but that particular piece of music was perfect for that time and that place
