Street Chant USA Tour

Our favourite trouble makers Street Chant are set to take on the US again with an impressive tour taking in both coasts this month. As well as playing a number of shows at  CMJ festival in NY and high profile club nights in LA, the trio will be supporting The Lemonheads who are touring their classic 1992 album It's A Shame About Ray.

STREET CHANT are heading back to the USA for CMJ in New York and then with The Lemonheads on the West Coast.

In LA and NYC Street Chant are playing a series of high profile club nights including Part Time Punks and the Fuzz Club, as well as the NZ showcase.

After this they will be supporting The Lemonheads playing their 1992 classic "It's A Shame About Ray" in it's entirety - an album which propelled the band into 90's alternative stardom. The tour just kicked off with two sold out shows at the Bowrey Ballroom in New York. After Evan Dando's manager played him the album "Means" the main Lemonhead requested Street Chant join him on the tour.

When Street Chant attended CMJ last year they played seven shows including support slots for Oh No Oh My, The Mad Scene and The Crystal Stilts. The New York Examiner picked Street Chant as one of the top bands to see at CMJ 2010 and The C-Ville News listed Street Chant among the top five bands they saw saying they were "the best band that I saw all weekend". They were written up in Brooklyn Vegan as the "darlings of the night". Street Chant also returned to New York in March this year following SXSW where they played a bunch more shows, got a whole lot of College Radio love and Blog action - including the Guardian online, Spinner, MTV Iggy, Sputnik Music and more.

Street Chant are currently working on their follow up album to Means - so expect to hear an new single from them very soon!
